Welcome! My name is Petteri Hyvärinen aka Kitarastas. I offer guitar tuition and bass tuition in Tampere. Players of all ages and levels have learned to play with me for roughly 20 years. Privately mostly, although I have taught small groups, bands etc. as well.

Having graduated from Tampere University of Applied Sciences (Bachelor of Arts - BA) in 2012, I'm also a professional musician. Since then (and long before that), I've performed with various bands, or in theatrical performances, circus shows, etc. and sometimes just solo with my trusty acoustic guitar.

Standard weekly lessons run for 45 minutes, though beginners or children should consider shorter, 30 minute lessons. Prices found here.

Lessons include technique, theory, ear training, improvisation, and anything of students' interest. I always respect YOUR goals and musical preferences.  If you're a complete beginner, you're introduced to all the basics. If you've some experience, but feel you're stuck with your playing, you'll be shown new ideas. Maybe you have impeccable shredding tecnique, but struggle to understand what you're actually playing; you'll be surprised of how far some practical musical knowledge will take you!
